Creating opportunities for Black Women to succeed

Hey Black Girl! is a Black-led, feminist, climate-conscious non-profit focused on developing programs that allow young Black women & non-binary folk to grow. It was born through a yearning for a platform where individuals with shared lived experiences could inspire one another.
We Are Championing…

Our Programs
The Fellowship
The Fellowship is a 10-session personal and professional development program curated for Black women. It is a series of workshops, led by Black educators, speakers, or professionals who are experts in their fields. It is the perfect program for people who are eager to learn, share and grow.

Menstrual Equity
One-third of young Canadians face period poverty. Globally, 500 million people lack access to safe, accessible menstrual products. We have developed multiple initiatives to work against period poverty. As a climate-conscious organization, we are focused on the distribution of free sustainable menstrual products to Black menstruators.
Project Up!
This project aims to serve as a knowledge sharing tool to propel and enhance Black womens entry, stay and success in the educational system. Through this project we will provide culturally-relevant and evidence-informed practices to ensure that Black women face decreased barriers to entry and are better equipped to achieve educational and professional progression.
